TacticS
Tactical Air Warfare: These were coordinated plane attacks
on the enemy’s troops on the battlefield, and were mostly carried out by
British and American forces in the war against Germany. Airplanes were the most commonly used weapons during the war.
The fighter-bomber: A fast, heavily armed, and sturdy plane that could withstand several situations. This was the weapon most commonly used for tactical strikes and missions. These planes would strike defensive positions, destroy supply and communication centers, or lay down a barrage of fire before an attack.

Naval Warfare
U-boats: These German submarines made shipping at sea nearly impossible. These ships traveled in large groups using the coordinated “wolf-pack” attack method to assault shipping convoys, which was later adopted by the U.S for use against Japan.
Battleships: These ships carried the largest naval guns which sat in movable housings called turrets. Turrets protected the gun crew and rotated to shut moving targets.
Aircraft Carriers: Aircraft carriers were extremely important in naval fleets. They could carry up to 100 planes, which would take off from the ship and land back on the top deck.

Land Warfare
Tank T-34: Unlike the WWl tanks used to protect troops, these tanks were designed for offensive action as the spearheads of blitzkrieg attacks. Instead of wheels they used tracks so that they could move around easily off roads. The T-34 was considered by many to be the finest tank of WWll, and it was so respected by the Germans that they copied the design in their Panther tank.

M3 Half-Tracks: These vehicles were mostly used by the Allies to carry troops, anti-aircraft guns, and artillery. They had wheels in the front and tracks in the back so that they could easily move over mud and snow.
FUN FACT:
SOE agents were issued with feet-shaped rubber soles that attached to their boots when landing on the beach. This would confuse the Japanese and misled them to believe the footprints were from locals walking barefoot on the sand, not enemy agents.
